Specimens of buttons supplied 1871 to the Bombay Governorís Body Guard.

An example of a large and small sized button on a piece of card cut from a pattern book of Garden & Son, 200 Piccadilly, London. A linen label fastened to the larger [approx 20mm diameter] indicates that 2Ĺ gross [602] were supplied in July 1871 to Captain R G Mayne. Robert Mayne was the Commandant of the Bengal Body Guard. Documented example of buttons like this are very few and far between. The smaller button has the back mark of Jennens. Gardens were suppliers rather than makers.
