60th King's Royal Rifle Corps. Identified officers in India mid 1870s.

A very good group photograph of officers, mainly of the 4th Battalion KRRC taken in India. The photograph is of albumen type and measures 22 x 16.5 cm with the top corners cut away [possibly because it was once mounted by them. The lower corners have folds across them and there a few fairly minor edge tears without loss. There is some damage incurred by Lt Walker on the extreme left. It is quite difficult to find groups that are this fully identified . The names in a contemporary hand identify Lt Col Wykeham Leigh Pemberton CB [lost two fingers and was badly wounded at Cawnpore in 1857, later awarded CB in 1879], Capt JHH Croft [captaincy 1870], Capt R Beadon [Capt 1867], Capt HR Milligan [Capt 1864], Lts W Cowan [Lt 1866], EOH Wilkinson [[1873], Hon Alwyn Henry Fulke Grenville [[1874], H Vere [1872], HRP Lindesay [1866], Walker, R Story [1874], Campbell, HEW Featherstonhaugh [1871]. With this is included a similar sized photograph of a group of the officers in various styles of civilian dress. This photograph has rounded corners, a small edge tear without loss.
