103rd Foot, Royal Bombay Fusiliers, officer’s 25mm

The 25mm gilt officer’s button  is in good condition retaining some of the full gilt and with the backmark JENNENS & Co LONDON.  The 103rd Foot Royal Bombay Fusiliers was one  of the regiments taken into the British Line after the end of the East India Company. The button was worn from 1862 to 1881 when it became the 2nd Bn. The Royal Dublin Fusiliers. The regiment’s history in the East India Company goes back to the 1680s. jan25/1
