106th (Bombay Light Infantry), officer’s gilt 25mm, 1862-1881

£35.00

An example an officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 106th (Bombay Light Infantry)  The button has the backmark J. W. REYNOLDS & Co. 50 ST MARTINS LANE LONDON. The scarce button has a somewhat dull finish and has lost most of the original gilt finish, aithough it is not heavily polished or worn. It could prpbably be enhanced by careful cleaning, The shank has been squashed at some time but is not broken. This pattern was worn from 1862 until 1881 when it became a battalion of the Durham Light Infantry . jan31/2
