108th (Madras Infantry), officer’s gilt 19mm, 1860-1881

£23.00

An excellent example an officer’s 19mm gilt button of the 108th (Madras Infantry) (Third Madras European Regt.) The button has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON  and it retains the full original gilt finish. This pattern was worn from 1861 until 1881 when it became the 2nd Bn. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, before being disbanded with other Irish regiments in 1922. As with all the last 9 infantry of the line this is rather difficult to find.  sep29/1
