16th (The Queen’s) Lancers, a painting of a Victorian officer in dress uniform
£160.00
16th (The Queen’s) Lancers. A very pleasing little painting of a mounted Victorian officer with shouldered sword, 7 x 5 ins visible. It is presented in a glazed oak frame, which appears untouched for many decades. The painting probably dates from 1890-1915 but there are no details of artist or date visible. It is rather in the manner of the uniform portraits of Simkin. The overall size is around 9½ x 7¼ ins and on this occasion we will ship it with the glass in place unless the buyer wishes it removing. aug31/1
