19th Regt. of Foot, Alexandra Princess of Wales’s Own, North Yorkshire Regiment. A 25mm example of a button from the 19th, later known as The Green Howards. It has the backmark PITT & Co. 50 ST MARTINS LANE LONDON. This pattern was worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became The Green Howards ( Alexandra, Princess of Wales’s Own Yorkshire Regt.). The button retains full gilt and is in particularly fine condition.   oct1/9
