A very good example of the officer’s gilt 19mm sized numbered button of the 28th Foot, North Gloucestershire Regiment. The tunic button has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON and retains virtually the full original gilt finish/ The shank us slightly bent upwards. This is the pattern worn from 1855 to 1881, when the regiment became 1st Bn The Gloucestershire Regiment. sep23/6
