A good ORs button of the 2nd Queen’s Royal Regt. of Foot 18mm with the backmark PITT & Co. MADDOX ST LONDON. Unusually for an ORs button this example has a gilt finish, most of which still remains. This si the variant pattern of this button with a naval crown. This pattern was worn from 1855 until 1881 when the regiment became the 1st & 2nd Bns.
