An excellent officer’s gilt 25mm button of the 1st Madras Pioneers with the backmark J. R. GAUNT & SON LONDON. The button, which retains the full original gilt finish, has the design of the regimental number in a circle with the title above and the battle honour SEETABULDEE below. A scroll on the surrounding wreath bears the date of the regiment’s original raising – 1758 . It became the Prince of Wales’s Own in 1906, hence his crest above. dec20/3
