A very good example of the officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 64th (2nd Staffordshire) Regt. of Foot as worn from 1855 to 1881 when it became the 1st Bn. The North Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales’s). It has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS. 153 STRAND LONDON & 13 CONDUIT ST. and retains virtually the full original gilt finish. aug10/1
