A rather faded and quirky carte de visite without photographer’s credit showing a seated British officer wearing mess dress jacket, waistcoat, and trousers but sporting a jaunty looking striped tie. From its provenance we believe this was taken in India and probably around the 1870s. He adopts a very casual full length seated pose. There is a little damage above his left shoulder. nov25/6
