£35.00
A carte de visite sized portrait, 3½ x 2¼ ins, mounted on later thick card. The staff officer is shown full length in dress uniform with sword and wearing medals including a three bar Crimea, an Indian Mutiny, and the Turkish Order of the Medjidie. He is either a Deputy Assistant Adjutant General or Deputy Assistant Quartermaster General. The studio pose, leaning rather casually on a column, is typical of the period of the late 1860s. jan23/3
