ARMY LIST 1827. A very good working copy but lacking the title page.

Lacking the title page but otherwise complete, pp1-666, [147 pp, Index, succession of colonels, casualties, additions]. Late 20th century half leather, firm, a copy interleaved with blanks for notation, rather tightly sewn. This copy is clean but has numerous notes, mainly on the blanks showing changes in office, etc. Regiments with particularly notable annotation include 1st, 13th, 40th, 41st, 87th, 1st & 2nd West India Regts. The annotation is done in a small, very neat secretarial hand and adds usefulness as a reference work. This edition was produced when the Duke of  Wellington was commander-in-chief  and veterans of Waterloo still have a gothic W against their names.The extra blanks and very stout paper make this a heavy volume at 1600 gm before packing, which will make it expensive to send abroad.    jun7/2
