Baroda. The gold and silver guns of the Gaekwar of Baroda

Baroda. A full plate, 11¼ x 8½ ins, unmounted photograph showing the Maharaja of Baroda’s gold and silver guns with their bullock teams, handlers and escort, circa 1890. The photograph has some creases, one with a tear without loss top right,  and a small area of loss at the lower right corner. Although a little faded along the right and lower edges this is a vey good clear image, as can particularly seen from the section showing the escort with drawn swords behind the guns. The British Library online gallery shows an example of this image which it dates to around 1890.   jun13/3
