Bengal Lancers. An Edwardian field officer’s great coat.

A magnificent and very wearable great coat of dark blue cloth with a dazzling scarlet lining, high collar, long rear vent for riding, two large external pockets and a deep inner one. It is approximately 50 inches long and fits me easily [I am 6 Feet 1 inch in height and of fairly normal build]. There is a very little damage to the lining. The coat lacks all its military buttons but retains the major’s crowns to the epaulettes. There is a short rear belt loose in one of the pockets. It is rather heavy so will be quite expensive to send abroad but it can be posted in this country for around £10.  aug2/1
