Bombay Light Cavalry, officer’s 13mm silver plated
POA
The 13mm silver plated button of the Bombay Light Cavalry has the design of the regimental monogram in script initials BLC on a frosted ground within a textured reserve. An example in the National Army Museum is attributed to the 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry who had served in distinction in Afghanistan, the Sind, and Persia before remaining loyal throughout the Mutiny, earning the battle honour Central India where they helped restore order. This example has the backmark of London maker BRADSHAW, WARWICK ST. and it has a long shank suggesting it had a position on part of the dress uniform which was heavily decorated with bullion, nov6/1 SOLD 15th November 2024
