Bombay Volunteer Rifles, a silver place card holder of 1910.
£120.00
A fascinating and rather unusual survivor. A silver place card holder of the Bombay Volunteer Rifles. The Edwardian holder is formed from a regimental shooting medal with an English silver mount hallmarked Birmingham 1910 with the maker’s mark H & A probably for Horton & Allday. The 30mm medal displaying crossed rifles with a strung bugle above and regimental name around the edge is in extremely fine condition and mounted on a square wooden base. Colonel Sir Percy Hambro’s card is not included in the sale but he enjoyed the regimental dinner. jan24/2
