Calcutta. Large sailing ships at anchor on Hooghly [2 photographs]
£45.00
A good sepia toned image of large sea going sailing ships at anchor (no steam seems to be in eAvidence), with a distant view of Government House in the background. A single image, 5.5 x 4 ins mounted on an old album page with another view – this of the Armenian Ghaut, identified in pencil beneath, a little wrinkled and with some discolouration. These vintage photographs were probably produced by W F Westfield, who produced small souvenir albums of Calcutta views, circa 1860s/70s. Westfield wrked with the more famous Saché. may2l/1
