The typically shaped brass name plate, 6¼ x 2¼ ins [10.8 x 6.8 cm] engraved Earl Cawdor. Cameron Highlanders and pierced at the corners for fixing to a uniform trunk. This was most likely used by John Duncan Vaughan Campbell, 5th Earl Cawdor [1901-70] who served in WWI in the Royal Navy but was Lt. Colonel of the 4th Bn QO Cameron Highlanders, seerving in WWII and mentioned in despatches. aug26/1
