George III silver dessert fork with Royal associations, 1809

The small silver George III period fork, 167 mm in length, weighs around 45 gm and has the hallmarks for LONDON 1809 with an indistinctly struck maker’s mark and above the hallmarks a Royal device is engraved. This consists of garter and motto around a crowned lion, all beneath a Georgian crown. On the upper side of the handle are some heavily polished marks which we have not been able to work out. feb5/3
