Gilt button as worn by Viceregal staff in the reign of the first King Emperor, Edward VII

A fine example of the gilt button worn by Viceregal Staff [aides de camp &c.] during the reign of Edward VII. This is the 22mm size tunic button which has the cypher applied in high relief and it retains almost full gilt. The back stamp of the maker is PITT & Co. 31 MADDOX ST. LONDON. mar6/1   SOLD 14th October 2024

This pattern of button was also worn by Officers at Arms  and the staff of Governors General.
