GORDON HIGHLANDERS. Victorian officer’s shoulder belt plate

A Victorian officer’s shoulder belt plate of the 92nd Highlanders measures 3¾ x 3 ins and the burnished gilt plate has a silver plated cross centred with XCII with thistles below and a scroll reading HIGHLANDERS and a Victorian crown above. The arms carry regimental battle honours. There is a very little bleeding through to the underlying metal on the high points of the crown and the thistle.   sep12/1
