Guilloche enamel circular patch box

The small and attractive gilt brass box, approximately 1½ ins diameter and ½ ins height [40 x13 mm] is of the type usually referred to as patch boxes but we feel this dates to about 1890-1920 when that fashion was no longer in vogue. It has engine turned decoration to the sides and base of the box and finely decorated guilloch red enamel to the hinged lid within an outer black band. The enamel is undamaged. dec3/3
