GWALIOR. A very good vintage photograph, 11 x 7 ins, taken at a parade in Gwalior in the early 1940s by Dias of Bombay showing the Gwalior Lancers drawn up at attention with swords drawn and standards raised. The 21 gun state maintained a large military force which was put at the service of the Empire in times of war. The photograph is richly toned and was tipped by the corners to a paper page of an old broken album. jan30/1
