The 7¼ x 5¼ ins group portrait shows officers, British and Indian, and Indian ncos titled in typescript on the card mount INDIAN ARMY STAFF – DEOLI TRANSIT CAMP c 1940. There is a small stain to the right leg of the major seated 2nd from right. Deoli was a camp near Bombay used for new troops arriving in India but in WW2 it also servd as a military prison and as a holding camp for captured members of the Japanese founded Indian National Army, jan8/3
