An unidentified late Georgian silver plated 29mm flat button with engraved initials JR or possibly IR beneath a Georgian crown. The button has the backmark Wm DOWLER & Sons BIRMINGHAM although the & Sons is badly struck. The maker was recorded from the last quarter of the 18th century. mar23/2
