North Indian parrying shield or dhal

A small dhal parrying shield of the type used by Sikh and other north Indian warriors. The iron shied has a diameter of approximately 8½ ins [21cm] and has somewhat worn decorative engraving with four additional copper bosses. This type of shield was often called a madu when it had additional horns attached. aug13/1 SOLD 14th March 2025
