Tibet & Pathan interest. A useful cache,of 17 small, black edged snapshots, 90 x 62 mm, almost all with locations marked in ink on the back. These were taken by an officer serving with the 4th Border Regiment identified on the back of one photograph as V.S.J. with some Thibetan labourers Oct 1917 and on a damaged postcard addressed to Capt. V. S Jones, 2/4th Borde Regt/ Cherat. N.W.F.T. Later he was Lt. Colonel Sir Vincent Strickland Jones, K.B.E. [1874-1967]. There are some 6 slightly larger photos and another postcard of Murree Forest sent to one of his daughters July 1917. The photographs, which are in very sharp focus, show soldiers, Pathans, and Abazai in p;aces around the Swat River, Mohmand, Sadar Garhi, Cabul River, &c. 34 items in total. jan18/1
