Oakes-Jones, Captain Herbert: personal Christmas card with coloured print by him

The large format card, 8 x 8½ ins, has the OJ monogram and his regimental badge of the Royal Fusiliers to the front with regimental ribbon bow. The inside carries on one side the printed greetings of the captain and his wife and the facing side has a tipped in colour print by H. OAKES-JONES titled on the card THE EARL OF BATH’S REGIMENT OF FOOT (Lincolnshire Regiment) 1685. Although undated the card is probably 1930s. The noted military artist had served in WWI.  mar22/1
