Officer’s dress tunic of the Indian Army, lacking buttons and epaulettes

The early 20th century scarlet dress tunic with black facings is offered as seen without the 8 buttons to the front and 2 to the rear and lacking epeaulettes. It could be useful for theatrical or re-enactment purposes or for the transfer of buttons from another tunic with very damaged cloth. It has never had any collar badges and as the buttons were not plugged but surface sewn their replacement would be fairly simple. The lining is in unusually good condition, A number of infantry regiments had black facings and I believe officers unattached to regiments had the same. apr17/4
