An old, oval brass plaque engraved with initials which are probably JJ although in the 18th & early 19th centuries the script letters I and J were often written in the same way. There is one remaining fastening on the back but parts of six in all where it has probably been fitted to a piece of harness, luggage, or a belt. It measures 3 x 2¼ ins, 75 x 56 mm. aug25/5
