ROTHSCHILD. Sir Anthony de Rothschild. A very large 30mm gilt livery button with the full arms
£40.00
The large 30mm gilt button, a size usually thought to be worn by coachmen, shows the full arms of the Rothschilds with their unusual three crests. The design probably dates from the award of the baronetcy to Sir Anthony in 1846. He was also a baron of the Austrian Empire. There is a little loss of gilt to the high points of the design. The backmark is FIRMIN & SONS LD. 153 STRAND LONDON & 47 WARWICK ST. The arms of the present Lord Rothschild remain the same. feb26/1
