Sikandara, near Agra. The tomb of Emperor Akbar
£30.00
The full plate 11 x 8½ ins unmounted view shows the marble tomb of the third Mogul Emperor Akbar by his son Jehangir in a fine courtyard with a corner chattri against the skyline. A similar chattri can be seen at Patcham outside Brighton, where it is a memorial to the many Indian soldiers lost their lives fighting for the Empire in the First World War.This very good, clear, original vintage image dates from about 1910. apr5/4
