Peter Hopkirk [1930 -2014] was a soldier, journalist, writer of books about India and Central Asia, best remembered for The Great Game, and an avid collector of books. Much of his collection was sold at Sotheby’s in 1998. Incidentally he was a good friend and bought books and maps from us over the years.
