The unusual brass 26 mm button has the lettering NEPAUL beneath a Victorian crown. The backmark is SPECIAL QUALITY. Ashok Nath [Izzat, 2009 India] tells us that this little known unit comprised some 75 men. It was unique in being a Resident’s escort rather than a Governor’s.
