Tooke family. An attractive 25mm button in silver plate with the Tooke family crest of a Griffin’s head erased with a sword in its beak. Above the crest is the family motto MILITIA MEA MULTIPLEX. The backmark is FIRMIN & SONS LD LONDON. There is some bleeding of the underlying copper on the high points of the design but it is fine looking, uncleaned button with a pleasingly fierce looking griffin. apr12/8
