Vice Lieutenant of an English County – uniform cap
£175.00
The cap of a Vice Lieutenant of an English county in excellent condition and of a usefully large size – 7 and 1/8th. The cap has the silver and gilt rose of an English county as it s badge and has silvered king’s crown buttons. I bought this over forty years ago with other items from the family of Sir Offley Wakeman, Bart., who had been Vice Lieutenant of Shropshire. It differs from the cap worn by a Lord Lieutenant in that the latter has an extra row of oak leaves on the peak. dec31/2
