Viceregal Staff evening dress, small size 16mm button

The small size button with the royal cypher of George V raised in gilt is 16mm in diameter and retains full gilt. This button has no backmark. This size was probably worn on an evening dress waistcoat used by the Viceroy’s staff [aides de camp etc]. dec30/1 SOLD 14th October 2024

This pattern of button was also worn by Officers of Arms [Heralds], and the staff of Governors General.
