Sir William Fenwick Williams [1826-1883] was a native of Nova Scotia, of which he was later the 1st Governor. A bust length photograph, 117 x 90 mm. A bust length portrait in uniform tipped to an old page from a volume of the Army & Navy Magazine 1883 shows him wearing the Crimean War medal which he won, along with other honours for leading the Turkish troops in the long defence of Kars. oct21/1
