Young cadets parading in a tented camp, 1893
£45.00
The full plate photograph measures11 x 8¾ ins and is pasted to an old album leaf 13½ x 10¼ ins., identified on the lower margin in pencil Lines 1893. The leaf is damaged with some loss along the edges but the photograph is not affected and remains in good condition. It shows small groups of young cadets probably awaiting a tent and kit inspection by the group of instructors on the right. They wear what appears to be a light grey uniform as favoured by some cadet units affiliated to rifle regiments, such as those at Eton College. The officer wearing blues uniform may be a member of the Suffolk Regiment. oct14/8
