The 23 mm button of fine gilt shows a fouled anchor with three five pointed stars with a roped edge and has the backmark C. C. SPORRONG & Co STOCKHOLM. This button is a pattern worn by the Swedish Merchant Navy and it came with other items from the family of a British naval pilot who died in action early in the 2nd World War. feb20/4
